RIFT ESCAPE COMBAT

Rift Escape combat guide to phases and extraction

Rift Escape is a desktop combat campaign with twenty-four missions across six worlds. The mission briefing tells you what must happen before extraction becomes available. Keep it in view during a fight: clearing enemies does not complete a rescue if the captives are still waiting for you.

Play Rift Escape

Move and fire from cover

Move with WASD and aim with the mouse. Hold left click to fire; keys 1–3 switch weapons. Solid cover blocks enemy bullets. Space dashes and F or right click strikes nearby enemies.

Match the enemy’s shield phase

Press E to change between Amber and Violet. Match a colored enemy shield to break through. You can also flank the enemy; melee and the arc cannon provide other ways to deal with shields. Ordinary enemy bullets can hurt you in either phase.

Finish the task before extracting

Rescue missions use Q: hold it beside a captive, then lead the freed courier around cover to the green extraction area. In sabotage missions, destroy each red reactor. A heist requires holding Q at the vault terminal before returning with the core. During defence, watch the relay’s health because attackers can damage it while you are fighting elsewhere.

Return for additional stars

Completing a mission earns a star. Bonus intel and beating the target time each add another. These can be earned on separate attempts, so a slower search for intel can still improve your record. Explorer mode provides 140 health and reduces damage; Standard begins with 100 health. Check whether the menu says your campaign is saved to your account. Practice mode leaves campaign progress unsaved.

Plan the return trip before taking an objective

Extraction often brings you back toward the entrance. In a rescue mission, the courier must follow that route too. After releasing one, lead them through an open passage and watch the evacuated counter when you reach the green circle. In sabotage, shoot the reactor itself and check the destroyed-target count after the explosion. A heist calls reinforcements after you take the core. Leave yourself a usable path back before the objective changes, rather than discovering that your current firing position has no comfortable exit.

Use the right co-op instructions

The local combat option has three separate missions for two people on one keyboard. Player two uses assisted aiming, so a clear line around cover is essential. Stay close enough to help a downed partner, and bring both players into extraction. Online friend rooms have their own objectives and input instructions. Read those in the room rather than expecting them to mirror every solo combat control. Both options need teamwork, but they ask you to coordinate different tasks.
