RIFT ESCAPE GUIDE

Rift Escape local co-op: two players on one keyboard

Rift Escape has three local combat missions for two people sharing one desktop keyboard. Player one uses the mouse to aim, while player two has assisted aiming. Choose a local team mission in the game menu. The separate online friend rooms use their own missions and are a different way to play together.

Play Rift Escape

Set up player one’s side of the keyboard

Player one moves with WASD and aims with the mouse. Hold the left mouse button to fire, or use J. Space dashes, E changes phase and F uses melee. Hold Q for a nearby objective interaction. The number keys select weapons. Before starting the fight, leave enough room at the keyboard for the other player’s arrow keys and right-hand controls. Agree which side of the screen you will move toward first.

Learn player two’s controls before the first fight

Player two moves with the arrow keys. N fires and M uses melee. Right Shift dashes, Enter changes phase and the slash key handles nearby interactions. Assisted aim chooses a visible enemy, so position matters: standing behind a wall does not create a clean shot through it. Try moving to the side of your partner so each player has a usable line to the fight. Check the in-game help if your keyboard layout makes a key awkward.

Stay close enough to revive a downed partner

The local missions keep both players within a shared area. If one is down, the other can revive them by staying nearby briefly. Clear the immediate danger before trying to hold that position. A rushed rescue in an exposed lane can put both players down. Move together around major obstacles so the shared view remains useful and neither player is left trying to read a fight outside the visible area.

Bring both players to extraction

Once the objective is complete, both players need to be alive and inside the green exit for extraction to finish. Check your partner before waiting at the circle. In a rescue mission, make sure the couriers have arrived as well. If you prefer separate devices, use the site’s friend-room flow and read the online mission instructions there. The local campaign controls should not be assumed to describe those separate online challenges.
