RIFT ESCAPE GUIDE

Rift Escape enemy types: choose your next target

Target priority changes with the objective. A nearby rusher may threaten your escape, while a more distant rifle enemy may be shooting the relay you need to protect. Decide what is likely to fail first, then choose a weapon and route that address it.

Remove the threat closing your movement lane

Rushers have 45 base health and the fastest ordinary movement speed. Their close attack has a short windup. Heavies have 220 base health, move more slowly and use stronger close attacks. Clear a rusher that blocks movement before committing to a long exchange with a heavy. Later worlds and local co-op scale enemy health, so base values are not fixed encounter totals.

Break ranged pressure with cover

Rifle enemies fire three-projectile bursts after a visible windup. Turrets cannot move, allowing solid cover to break their firing line while you deal with a mobile threat. Enemy projectiles are neutral: changing Amber or Violet phase is not a universal bullet dodge. Keep watching the firing lane after changing phase.

Answer shields and protect the objective

A wrong-phase frontal hit against a shield enemy is reduced to 18 percent damage. Matching phase, flanking, melee or arc damage avoids that reduction. In defence missions, enemies can switch attention to the relay. Every fourth kill drops a medkit that heals 25 up to the difficulty’s maximum, but chasing it should not expose the objective.
