Rift Escape checkpoints: recover mission progress
After an attempt enters the lost state, checkpoint recovery can continue from the most recent checkpoint. It preserves completed objective work, but it adds time and counts as a hit. Use it to learn the remaining route before aiming for a clean result.

Know which interactions move the checkpoint
Destroying a reactor, releasing a courier or taking the vault core updates the checkpoint. Recovery returns the player there with completed objectives preserved. It is therefore different from starting the mission again with every task undone. Remember the most recent interaction when deciding where you will re-enter the fight.
Use the brief protection to reorient
Recovery clears active bullets and charged ground dangers, and restored players receive four seconds of temporary protection. Released couriers that have not yet evacuated move back near the checkpoint. For a defence mission, relay health returns to at least 160. Check those companions and the objective before moving away.
Account for the cost and the save boundary
Recovery adds eight seconds to the mission clock and records a hit. It cannot preserve an untouched result and may put a time target out of reach. This recovers the current attempt; campaign records saved to an account are a separate system. Do not treat the recovery button as proof that every active combat position will survive closing the browser.
