RIFT ESCAPE GUIDE

Rift Escape rescue missions: get couriers to extraction

A rescue mission counts a courier once they reach safety. Releasing them is the first step. Hold Q beside a captive, then lead them toward the green extraction area. Watch their movement around cover instead of sprinting straight to the exit and assuming they have arrived behind you.

Clear room around the captive

Reach the marked captive and remove the nearby pressure before starting the interaction. Q needs to be held briefly while you are close. If shots force you away, find cover and deal with the attacker rather than trying to complete the action in the open. Read the message when the courier is released. Their next job is to follow you, so plan a route that gives them room to leave the area.

Lead a route around solid obstacles

Use the open corridors between cover. A direct dash can put you on the far side of an obstacle while the courier is still walking around it. Turn back far enough to see where they are and continue along a route they can follow. Take corners with space, especially when you return through a narrow passage. The rescue is easier to judge when the courier is visible behind you rather than somewhere off the screen.

Watch the evacuated counter

The mission display shows how many couriers are evacuated. If it has not increased, a released courier may still be on the route. Lead them into the green exit area and check the counter before leaving for the next captive. Finishing nearby enemies does not substitute for this delivery. Treat each rescue as a return trip with a clear end, rather than freeing everyone first and hoping they all find their way back.

Take optional intel when the route is safe

The intel case can earn an extra star, but you do not need to gather every bonus on the same attempt. Finish the rescue once to learn the route. On a replay, you can add the intel detour or work on a faster completion. If you are trying for the time star, remember that the courier’s travel is part of the mission. Saving a second by dashing around a corner can lose more time if you then have to go back for them.
