Rift Escape stars: intel and target times explained
Rift Escape gives one star for a completed mission, another for its optional intel and another for beating the target time. You can earn those bonuses on separate successful attempts. That lets you learn the route first, explore for the case afterward and save the fast run until you know where to go.
Play Rift Escape
Get the first clear before planning a perfect route
Finish the required objective and reach extraction. This shows you the full route and where the return trip begins. A rescue level takes different planning from an assault, because the couriers must reach safety too. A defense mission has waves to complete. Watch which action actually changes the objective counter instead of judging progress only from the number of enemies you have defeated.
Make a separate visit for the intel case
Each mission has an optional intel case. Move into it to collect it, then complete the mission so the result is recorded. Look at parts of the layout you skipped on your first clear. You do not have to rush while learning where the case sits relative to cover and the exit. Once you know the detour, decide whether it fits into a fast route or is best kept as its own completed attempt.
Use the displayed target time for the speed star
The target varies by mission. Remove wasted movement rather than trying to dash through every fight. In sabotage, a clean firing angle on each reactor may save more time than an aggressive shortcut. In rescue, check the courier’s route before committing to extraction. The game keeps a time-star success even when a later clear is slower, so you can focus on one missing bonus without undoing an earlier good result.
Check that the result is being saved
Rift Escape shows whether account saving is active or you are playing an unsaved practice session. Read that state before working through several missions for stars. A no-hit clear is tracked separately from the three-star count; taking one hit does not automatically prevent the intel or time star. If you are practising, use the attempt to learn the route and confirm your save status before the run you want to keep.
