Zombie Arena enemies: which zombie to shoot first
Your nearest zombie is not always the one causing the most trouble. A runner can close your escape lane while a distant spitter fills it with acid. In Zombie Arena, choose targets around the space you need for the next few seconds. This matters more as different infected appear together in the later waves.

Clear runners before they reach your flank
Runners move much faster than shamblers and have less health. They can catch you while you spend a whole magazine on a brute. Turn toward an approaching runner before it reaches your side, then keep moving around the slower group. A short burst is often enough to create the gap you need. Avoid retreating directly toward another spawn marker while your attention is on the runner in front.
Break a spitter’s line of fire
Spitters attack from range and leave dangerous ground effects. Move sideways when a projectile approaches and check where it lands before circling back. Solid cover can block a projectile, but standing beside the same corner makes your next route easy to close. Use the carbine when a clear firing lane opens. The shotgun works at shorter range, so walking across the whole arena to use it on a distant spitter can expose you unnecessarily.
Lead the heavier infected through open space
Brutes are slower and can absorb far more damage than ordinary shamblers. Armored infected also take longer to bring down. Keep enough distance to deal with them without giving up sight of the faster enemies. A group following one route gives grenades a clearer target and helps piercing shots reach more than one infected. Check your escape side before firing, because a heavy target can hide a runner arriving behind it.
Change priorities as the wave develops
A useful order depends on position. Shoot the enemy about to block your exit, then deal with the ranged threat covering that exit. Work on a brute when you have room to keep moving. If the arena is already crowded, use a dash to reach open ground before choosing a new firing line. Between waves, pick an upgrade that addresses the pressure you actually faced. Extra damage has less value if your main problem is getting trapped during every reload.
