BETWEEN WAVES

Zombie Arena upgrades: choose for the next wave

After a completed wave, Zombie Arena pauses for an upgrade choice. Look at how the last wave went before choosing. If you were regularly trapped against cover, more bullet damage may leave the same movement problem in place. Each choice should help with a failure you can identify.

Recover health or avoid the next hit

Field armor adds 25 maximum health and immediately restores 35 health, up to the new maximum. Second wind improves the recovery awarded after each wave. Ghost step increases movement speed and shortens the dash cooldown. Health gives you more room for mistakes; movement helps if the crowd repeatedly cuts off your escape route.

Match the upgrade to your firing pattern

Hollow point raises damage across all weapons. Extended mags and Quick hands reduce different interruptions: one lets you fire longer, while the other shortens reloading. Collateral lets bullets pierce additional infected, which helps when targets line up. Check the current upgrade level as well as the offered name, because each upgrade has a limit.

Keep a plan for the Warden

The tenth wave brings the Warden. Its marked slam targets a position and can call additional runners into the arena. Keep space to leave that warning area while dealing with the smaller enemies. Demolitions increases grenade capacity and refills the supply when chosen. Shock dash adds damage and knockback to a move you may already be using to escape.
