How to win Drift Zone time trials and championships
A Drift Zone time trial has a different win condition from a drift attack. You race the required laps against the AI and need a podium place. Championships also use finishing position. Before entering a contract, check its mode so that you spend your time on the objective the result will actually measure.

Finish the laps on the podium
First place earns three stars, second earns two and third earns one in both time trials and championships. Concentrate on completed laps and your position against the other cars. A long slide can lose time if the exit leaves you too slow to defend a place. Use the event display to keep track of the race still remaining.
Choose a car and difficulty for the route
The Zenith Works offers strong acceleration and the highest top-speed bonus. The Kumo GT absorbs more contact damage, though its steering is heavier. The Fox RS is sharper on turn-in but has a lower top speed. These differences matter when a route has repeated tight corners. Compare the car’s trade-off with the section where you currently lose ground. Rookie gives the player a larger straight-line speed advantage over the AI than Pro. Learn where the route narrows before moving to closer racing. Active twists still deserve attention: a Nitro Relay pad can help on a clean exit, while a low-grip surface needs a more measured approach. Cosmetic shop items keep the original handling.
